Pueblo Bonito Pacifica- Cabo San Lucas, MX

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is definitely designed for large groups. It’s an adult only, ocean front, all-inclusive Cabo resort, that is actually quite reasonably priced. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, if that is what you are looking for.

It comes off a bit generic, albeit with a few interesting design details, and the included options are less than impressive. However, a stay here allows you to play Quivira Golf Course, which makes it all worth it.

Beachside Pool

Part of a collection of all inclusive resorts and timeshares scattered around Cabo, the Pacifica is intended to be one of their higher end properties- and they do offer higher end options, they just won’t be included in your all inclusive package. So, if you want decent wine, cocktails that don’t haunt you the next day, or to dine at the steak house, it will all be extra. Everything you want will be extra.

Beachfront Bar

Also, like many beaches around Cabo, the one at Pacifica, while dotted with cabanas and lounge chairs, is completely unswimmable due to rip tides. So you can look, but you can’t touch. The pool here is lovely however, and large, with a swim up bar and plenty of seating. The sunsets are spectacular, and its close proximity to their other property, aptly named Sunset Beach, increases your dining options.

Beach Cabanas

Checking in can be a bit of a circus, especially if you get stuck behind a large tour group like we did, and includes waiting in a second long line to pick up your plastic wrist band, which they require you to wear on property. It is here they will try to automatically schedule you for a time share pitch breakfast, which you need to aggressively refuse if you want to actually enjoy your stay.

However, as long as you arrive after noon, you can camp at one of their restaurants and wait for your room to be ready. Which you will need to do, because there are a lot of rooms to clean all at once when a large group checks out.

The rooms themselves are a bit basic, but clean and comfortable, with views of the Pacific (albeit some views are better than others), and some fun design details like inlaid pebbles. The mini bar is stocked daily with water and beer, which is convenient.

Deluxe Ocean View Room

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica was my first foray into the all-inclusive world, which was required to play the adjacent Quivira Golf Course. Pacifica could have been the WORST HOTEL EVER (which it’s not), and it would have still been worth it to play that course. Seriously.

Quivira is absolutely magnificent. Hands down, one of the most stunning golf courses I have ever played, and I would happily stay at Pacifica again to play it in the future, bad wine and all.
