The Muskoka Bay Club- Gravenhurst, ON
Prior to moving to Canada, I was unaware of the Ontario region known as Cottage Country. Carved out of the Canadian Shield by glacial activity eons ago, this stunningly beautiful area is naturally the perfect setting for the province's best golf courses. Among those not to be missed is Gravenhurst's Muskoka Bay Club.

Angus Glen Golf Club: South- Markham, ON
Opened in 1995, the South Course is the older of the two tracks at Angus Glen. Extremely popular when it debuted, the Doug Carrick design was pronounced the best new golf course in Canada that year by Golf Digest, and hosted the Canadian Open just a few years later.

Angus Glen Golf Club: North- Markham, ON
To be honest, I found Angus Glen's North Course underwhelming. It was ridiculously expensive ($300 USD), and fairly unremarkable.

TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (Hoot)- Caledon, ON
I absolutely love the TPC Osprey Valley Complex. I can't wait to see the end results of the current expansion, even though they may make it impossible to get a time time when complete. Currently, it is quite a trek from Toronto to the courses, making onsite overnight accommodations a game changer.

Eagles Nest Golf Club- Maple, ON
Eagles Nest is by far the best public golf option in the greater Toronto area. Designed by Doug Carrick in 2004, it's comparable to the Heathlands Course at TPC Osprey Valley, but quite a bit closer to Toronto. Built on the site of a former gravel and sand quarry, the course plays like a true links style course, with towering dunes, vast waste areas and numerous pot bunkers.
