Angus Glen Golf Club: North- Markham, ON

To be honest, I found Angus Glen’s North Course underwhelming. It was ridiculously expensive ($300 USD), and fairly unremarkable. It was also crowded, with a slow pace of play. It was in decent condition, but certainly not what I would expect for the price. They were also very strange about handing over the key to the golf cart. All said, it was a one and done for me.

Built on land that was once a Black Aberdeen Angus and Thoroughbred racehorse farm, owned by mining magnate Arthur Stollery, the Doug Carrick designed North Course opened in 2001, six years after the South course debuted. In 2007, prior to hosting the Canadian Open, Davis Love III revamped the North course, making it more appropriate for tournament play by adding length, and shrinking fairway widths.

Don’t expect too much drama here, or much in the way of elevation changes. Truthfully, I struggle to recall a memorable hole. It was a nice course, but certainly not worth the exorbitant greens fees charged. For slightly more, I would go to Eagles Nest every time, or commit to a longer drive to the TPC courses
